FAQ

Where do I pick up my rentals?

Pick up and drop off are at our garage near Crismon and Southern.  You can find us on Apple and Google maps for exact location.

How long does it take to float the Salt River?

There are multiple routes ranging from 1 hour to 5 hours. The most popular is Bridge to Phon D and that takes about 2-3 hours depending on water conditions.

What pressure should the boards be inflated to?

The max pressure is 15 psi.  We generally recommend filling to about 12 or 13 psi to be safe and allow for expansion in the hot Arizona sun.  Over inflation can cause the boards to pop (not good and costly for you).  Each pump has a pressure gauge, so if you're inflating them yourself, it's fairly straight forward.  If you are taking them pre-inflated, you have nothing to worry about!

What happens if I lose or damage something?

Accidents do happen, however, you will be responsible for all lost or damaged equipment.

Costs:

Lost or popped paddle board* - $350

Lost or damage adult kayak - $400

Lost or damaged kids kayak - $200

Lost paddle - $30

Lost or punctured dry bag - $25

Lost or broken fin - $10.

Lost premium life jacket - $50

*If a hole in a paddle board can be patched, there is a $75 patch fee. If it cannot be patched then you will be charged for replacement.

What days are the busiest for rentals?

Saturdays, by far, book the fastest, so plan ahead!  Weekends in general are (naturally) the busiest, but weekdays can fill up quickly as well, so just make sure to get your rentals booked in advance.

Is it better to pick up paddle boards inflated or deflated?

Our preference is to have them already inflated when you pick them up.  This saves you the time and energy it takes to pump (generally at least 10 minutes per board), gives you more time on the water, and relieves the worry about over inflation.  Inflated boards can generally be strapped onto any vehicle with a hard roof (straps provided). If you have a pickup truck, please make sure the bed is clean before pickup.  That being said, if you need them to be deflated for transportation, just let us know and we can certainly accommodate.

How can I pick up multiple rentals for a group all at once?

We recommend utilizing multiple vehicles if necessary.  A pickup truck can usually carry about 10 paddle boards in the back.  If you're renting kayaks, they take quite a bit more space and effort, so keep that in mind and have a plan.  Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Do you provide life jackets for adults and children?

We provide life jackets on a first-come first-serve basis, so please bring your own if you have them.  We have them in 5 sizes ranging from infant to adult.  Just let us know your needs and we'll hook you up in any way can.

What additional items are required for our excursion?

You will need 2 vehicles, one at the starting location and one at the ending location.  You will also need Tonto passes for each vehicle.  They can be purchased at gas stations leading out of town for $8 or at phon D or Pebble beach for $12.

Do you provide shuttle or delivery services?

No.  We do not deliver, pick up, or shuttle any equipment or persons to any location.

WELCOME TO

Mavrian

Hi, I’m Bekah, founder of Mavrian Paddle Boards.  I’m a mother of three and outdoor enthusiast.  I love hiking, soccer, photography, and just simply spending time in the outdoors with my family.  Since moving to Arizona over a decade ago, I found a love for paddle boarding, and specifically, cruising the beautiful rivers we have in our state.  The scenery is awe-inspiring and I believe taking the time to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends is a crucial part of life.  What better way to accomplish that than floating down the Salt on a paddle board or kayak!

I started this little business simply as a way to share my passion and enthusiasm with others.  I love that this endeavor allows me to involve my entire family and we all get a kick out of meeting new people.  As an added bonus, my kids get to learn a little something about hard work and entrepreneurship!  I hope you enjoy getting out on the water as much as I do!
